I am really interested to see the source for the steel grey coats, buff breeches, and brown gaiters. Thanks!Papelavhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09397416223094004799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1788158766001730883.post-51541102550147646982010-09-14T05:21:35.050-07:002010-09-14T05:21:35.050-07:00Hi Adam,

(G A Embleton's illustrations are always impressive and the 18th century is one of his specialisms...) Very interesting, too, to hear that Reid thinks Gerlach was originally Rall. Witzel's book does suggest that the regiment wore the uniforms of the variety of units that contributed contingents to it so that means 8 different uniforms! But he doesn't say that eventually they wore only one uniform unique to the regiment so it would be very interesting to know the source of this claim. Perhaps some correspondence with the author is required? :-)

Will check the P&H for the uniform but it's very late now so will do that in the next day or so.

Thanks again.

Cheers,

David
http://nba-sywtemplates.blogspot.com/David Morfitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09016926084467625584noreply@blogger.com
